OHO Bar
An industrial themed naturally ventilated bar was designed for a client within a given budget, The proposed was a glazed facade GI roofed structure. A courtyard in between the GI structure and a block to house an Air conditioned bar and Staff quarters was the idea behind the zoning .
The idea of the courtyard is to bring in light and ventilation, aid in reducing the humidity within the open bar space.
Landscaping by creepers on the concrete grey coloured walls was proposed for which a grid pattern from the leftover steel rods from construction were re-used, ropes were wound on to the rods so it can retain moisture for the creepers and also protect the steel .
An open live kitchen concept with a serving ledge is combined into the seating space to establish a inclusiveness to the users. To maintain the continuity of the lines formed by the roofing sheet with the counter, the live kitchen was stamped with concrete by shuttering the roofing sheet against the counter wall.
Detail was given to all the lines that fall inside the structure from the truss to the purlins to the frames of the glass, these lines meet at the edges of the structure creating sense of continuity and have an organised symmetry.
