IRT (Institute of Road Transport, Chennai) commissioned us to design and detail a Bus Depot inside IITm . Documentation and research in bus transport was carried out and with the inference a functionally more convenient bus depot was proposed. It houses all the necessary facilities a workshop requires.

With Wash Ramp, Service ramp, Battery rooms with individual Drivers and Mechanics Cabin. The Long span roof is made of steel and is sheet with provision for north lighting. The load of the roof is transferred to the arch shaped R.C.C beams.

Priority was given to functionality with well-planned drainage system and designing an area within the campus with minimum cutting of trees was the ideal behind the project.
