The proposal was a Guest House for Builder based in Madurai. Living, Dining, Kitchen and Leisure spaces had to be at level 1 with two separate bedrooms on level 2.
The task was to design a contemporary guest house which could serve as a weekend home or to entertain guests host parties.

Our proposal was to provide wide expansive spaces. Challenge was to how to integrate different space and connect them functionally. Level Differences in floor and open planning guided to make the spaces connect to each other and to maintain the ambience of a weekend home.

Wide cobble stoned entry to the house leads to an open patio where a water feature was designed. Exposed brick walls upto 4’ height border an open well which can be looked from Level 2. Precast Concrete Slabs vertically placed at the entrance to form a background to the perennials. As well as secludes the open space accessed from inside. Level 2 is given a series of vertical tube sections to continue the façade as well as act as the handrail for the balcony.
