Our clients approached us to build their weekend home in auroville inspired from their visit to the tuscan region in italy, they wanted a three bedroom one storeyed weekend home. we proposed a simple square planned house with slopped roof and double height living area with staircase opening to the views on the north landscaped garden. Random rubble wall to highlight the living wall with exposed precast concrete cantilevered steps to make the double height space appear more open. Lime plastered walls for the exterior and lime based paints were used to render a natural spread shade to the outer wall. The flooring, ceiling and the bathrooms are done with polished exposed concrete. all the furniture’s, doors and windows are reclaimed furniture from in and around auroville .
